JOINT STATEMENT FROM OTTAWA COMMUNITY HOUSING BOARD CHAIR AND CEO
Friday, December 10th, 2021 (OTTAWA, ON) – Following Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson’s announcement to not seek re-election in the upcoming 2022 City of Ottawa municipal election, Mathieu Fleury, Chair of the Board of Directors and Stéphane Giguère, Chief Executive Officer of Ottawa Community Housing Corporation (OCHC) have issued the following statement:
Ottawa Community Housing Corporation would like to thank Mayor Jim Watson for his years of leadership and engagement towards the issue of social and affordable housing in Ottawa. We are grateful that Mayor Watson has been an Ex-Officio member of our Board since 2010, his dedication to the residents of the City of Ottawa and OCHC communities has made places where residents live, a more vibrant space for everyone.
His contribution to OCHC will continue to have a positive impact on 32,000 tenants in over 15,000 homes for years to come.
We look forward to continuing to work with Mayor Watson during the remainder of his term, and to develop more safe, quality, and affordable homes in Ottawa.
